Vector Functions Overview

A vector is a line segment with an arrow tip on one end illustrating a direction. A vector’s origin is at the center of its parent object and the vector’s arrow tip points in the direction to be illustrated. A vector’s length, color, and other attributes are picked automatically to achieve visual appeal. Any vector can be right-clicked to open a context menu with functions specific to that vector.

There are four classes of vector functions:

Name
Description
Showing Vectors
Show vectors pointing from an object in a variety of directions.
Using a Vector to Set the Camera View
Use a vector to simultaneously change the visualization frame, camera position, and camera orientation.
Changing Vector Appearance
Change a vector’s label text, color, opacity, and size.
Showing Angles
Show the current value of the angle between two vectors centered at the same object.
